Hope for the Mind
Creating a hope-filled life begins in the mind. Specifically, it begins with the renewing of your mind. But what is the mind, and why does Hope begin there?
Your mind is the control center of your soul.
It houses your intellect, feelings, thoughts, memories and emotions. It’s the place that governs how you process, think and imagine. Its the birthplace of your ideas and creativity.
Your mind controls and drives your outer self…the person the world sees.
Because your mind is responsible for filtering and regulating what enters it, it is often shaped by your experiences and atmosphere. Sometimes, the experiences are great…sometimes they’re not. This is why being intentional with what fills your mind is so important.
There are times when we struggle with purpose, clarity, healing, mental health, emotions, etc. Sometimes, we’re plagued by grief, loss, anger, hurt, doubt and fear. If we set our intentions on creating a hope-filled thought life and outlook, then we can configure and fine tune the settings of the control center that is our minds. We can begin to change the ways we see, think and feel. Instead of allowing unfavorable experiences to shape us, we can use choose how we respond to those situations and what lessons we can glean from them.
If you set an atmosphere of Hope for your minds, then a hope-filled body will soon follow. As a result, our minds and body will be in agreement with the spirit of God that powers us.
“And be not fashioned according to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is the good and acceptable and perfect will of God.” Romans 12:2, ASV
“Therefore, with minds that are alert and fully sober, set your hope on the grace to be brought to you when Jesus Christ is revealed at his coming.” 1 Peter 1:13, NIV
Throughout the pages of this site and through our podcast, we will begin to prepare a birthplace for Hope in our minds through Honesty and Healing. Don’t get me wrong, we will have many moments of fun and lightheartedness, but we will also dive deep into the topics that need to be discussed. We won’t be afraid to roll up our sleeves and do the work…the work that Births Hope!
